Privacy notice

Last updated 6 October 2026.

CleanYourDatabase (“we”, “us”) operates cleanyourdatabase.com. This notice explains how we handle personal data. Contact: support@cleanyourdatabase.com. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZC263749.

1. Two kinds of data

Your account and payment data. For this we are the controller. It covers your company name, your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), login details, your orders, and your payment records (card payments are handled by Stripe; we never receive full card details).

The contact lists you upload. For these we act as your processor. You are the controller and decide why the data is processed. We process uploaded files only to carry out the checks you choose and return your clean file.

2. How we use uploaded lists

We do not sell, rent or share uploaded data, add it to any database, or use it for our own marketing or profiling.

3. Retention

Your uploaded file and your clean file are deleted automatically 30 days after we deliver the clean file. Files uploaded but never paid for are deleted after 30 days. We keep a summary of each order (file name, counts, checks, price and dates) for your account history and our accounting records.

4. Who else is involved

5. Lawful bases

We process account data to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations such as accounting, and for our legitimate interests in running and securing the service. Where you upload lists, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to process that data and to have it checked.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and ask for data portability. If a request concerns data in a list uploaded by one of our customers, we’ll pass it to that customer as controller. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Cookies

We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in and protect forms. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages. The chat remembers your open conversation in your browser for the current visit only.

8. Security

The site uses HTTPS throughout. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, files are kept in a private folder that can’t be browsed, and only you and our team can download them.

9. Changes

We’ll update this page if our practices change and revise the date above.
